After asking the owners of the cabanas we realize that it is definitely best to take cash with you. You can pay with cash at most places. There are only 2 ATM's in Tulum and in most cases they give you pesos instead of US money. Do not expect to be able to use a credit card at too many places. Travelers checks always work too.

The wedding is in Tulum even though this site has it under Cancun. Tulum is not an option on the pull down menu. Sorry for the confusion! :0)
